....and so to the second Corrupted night at The Cellar Bar. This night has the potential to become an established stop - off for up and coming metal bands (or ones on the way down). The Corrupted team have the knowledge and the contacts. They have some great bands lined up over the coming months, Baby Judas to name one.
First band tonight are C.S.O.D. (Constant Source Of Disappointment) from Blackpool and easily my favourite act of the night. They are almost punk, a bit snotty, a bit Dead Kennedys but with the full metal guitar heroics. Blackpool has been an untapped source of quality metal bands and I understand that a whole Corrupted night may be given over to bands from the coast.

Doom rockers UNSILENCE are next and whilst being pretty good were pretty static performance - wise. They have been together a long time and their musicianship is shit hot but I thought the vocals were lacking and not very 'metal' or maybe I am missing the point.
I've never really got glam and unfortunately for me, tonight's headliners HOOKER are VERY glam. Checking on the audience reaction I was in a minority of one. Granted, they are prettier than most glam bands, pull all the right shapes and certainly look the part but more importantly, they sound the part like a glittery hybrid of Motley Crue and New York Dolls. I still don't get it.
